Sandy DeLuca, Escape to Gotham

The news is disturbing these days. So, I’ve escaped to Gotham!

Researching different artist’s and their varied interepations of DC Comics characters.  Right now, the influcences of artists like Jason Fabok and Stanley ‘Artgerm’ Lau have inspired me to paint some of my own versions of the various heroes and villains of Gotham. Of course, the villains rule with me.

My work will never be as technical as the artists that I’ve mentioned–and I don’t want it to be–but I’ve incorporated my work into what might be called a Neo Pop Art style.

Right now–over the past week–I’ve been doing studies with ink and acrylics, all in black and white. Will keep you posted on my progress with time.

Thanks for looking,

Sandy DeLuca

Projects During Isolation, 2020

This is has been a difficult time for most of us. Because of the coronavirus, not leaving my home except for occasional supply runs, has become normal. Time spent in solitude has granted me more time to create. I’ve recently rewritten and expanded my 2011 novella, INTO THE RED. (originally released from Damnation Press). At the time of this post, it is at Crossroad Press awaiting final edits and proofs.

In addition, I am working on a novel inspired by my great grandfather’s house and the surrounding area. AND I’ve decided to expand several short stories–written over a decade ago–into novellas.

Those of you who know my process are familiar with the sketches and paintings that accompany my written work.

I’m posting some of my pandemic paintings here.

As always, thanks for checking out my work.
